What Is On at the Open Day
MIFANT staff will be available to talk about the programs and services available across Darwin, including how to access support, what the NDIS pathway looks like, and how MiPlace Hub fits into someone's broader recovery journey. Enjoy a a free community BBQ lunch and live music throughout the morning.

The community voting activity from the Raintree Park event on 22 May continues here. Five jars, each representing a different kind of support that helps people stay mentally well, will be set up for visitors to cast their vote. The question is the same one MIFANT put to Darwin City the week before: "What makes our community mentally well?"
At the end of the Open Day, the combined results from both events will be photographed and shared publicly. Two audiences, one community voice.
What Is MiPlace Hub
MiPlace Hub is MIFANT's mental health hub in Darwin, open Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 1:00pm. It is a space for people living with mental illness to connect, build skills and support one another through both the ordinary and the difficult.
It does not operate like a clinic. There are no waiting rooms. There are people, community, and over 30 years of MIFANT experience walking alongside Territorians through mental health challenges. The Open Day is an opportunity to see that for yourself.
Why This Week Matters
The MiPlace Hub Open Day is part of MIFANT's program for Schizophrenia Awareness Week 2026. The national theme this year is Beyond the Headlines, a call from the Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia to shift the conversation about mental illness away from crisis and stigma, and toward what people actually need to stay well.
Community connection is one of the most important answers to that question. So is accessible support, safe housing, and services that work together rather than in silos. MiPlace Hub exists because MIFANT has always believed that recovery is not just a clinical process. It is a human one.
