Wellbeing Workshop: Positive Booklets

Writing down what you like about yourself is not always easy. At this month’s wellbeing workshop, our participants gave it a go by making their own positive booklets.

Each booklet started as sheets of brown paper, folded and glued into pages.

Participants then filled them with words about themselves in coloured marker. One booklet opens to “I am kind” and “I am funny”.

Putting those words on paper builds confidence, and the booklet goes home with you to open again on a harder day.

R U OK? Day

Asking someone if they are okay can feel awkward. Most of us worry about saying the wrong thing, or not knowing what to do with the answer.

Our participants marked R U OK? Day by baking a batch of treats at MiPlace Hub, each one with the question piped on top in chocolate. It was a simple and generous way to start a conversation that matters.

You do not need to fix anything. Sit with the person, listen, and check back in a few days later. That is enough.

Cool Program Update

A Day Out at Crab Claw Island

Our Cool Program participants headed out to Crab Claw Island for a day away from the city. The group shared a meal on the deck overlooking the water and spent time together away from the usual routine.

Crab Claw Island is one of those Top End spots that feels a world away, and the day gave everyone the chance to slow down and enjoy each other’s company.
