Activity Programs (Darwin)
MIFA(NT) provides a range of activities throughout the year as identified by participants and are run in a safe and friendly environment. Our activities are designed to increase participation and self esteem, engage in social activities with friends, raise awareness about issues affecting people with a mental illness and learn new skills together.
Activities vary throughout the year however regular activities include Art, Yoga, Participants Meeting and a Friday BBQ.
We also have regular guest speakers providing a variety of information sessions on subjects such as Centrelink payments, employment ready, anger management, self esteem, communication skills, self care and oral health.
Other activities throughout the year are based around wider community events and have included Melbourne Cup lunch, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, Harmony Day, Anzac Day BBQ and Christmas Party.
